The Grand Master congratulated the Lodge upon beginning its career with such a number of Masons of good standing. He said he understood this was the Worshipful Masters first time of being the W.M. of a newly constituted Lodge and his duties would therefore be of a more onerous nature than he had hitherto experienced as it was in the first years of a new Lodges working that so much of the success depended on the Worshipful Master and Officers. He thought from what he had seen he might prophesy it would turn out a fine Lodge. He impressed upon them only to admit as new members those who were worthy to become members of our world wide Order. The Province he was glad to say was now doing its share in maintaining our great charities and he hoped the new Lodge would help in that way to their very utmost as at the present time it was very needful. He acknowledged their name ‘Stormont’ was a good augury and he trusted the new Lodge would be a credit to themselves and the Province and he welcomed them very heartily into his large and increasing family. The Worshipful Master thanked the Grand Master for his good wishes for the success of the Lodge, and said a great many of their present members had been well-grounded in matters of moment and the cause of Charity. He hoped the Grand Master would be long spared to adorn the high offices he now held.
