The Grand Master delivered an address to the Brethren impressing upon them the necessity of care in electing new members and said the first year of a Lodge was its most important time as if a good system of working was established future Officers were sure to try to carry it out accordingly.

He also pointed out that our Charities were worthy of support by all Masons and he trusted the new Lodge would do their part in supporting them.

He hoped the new Lodge would prove a great success and in accord with their name prove one of the Jewels of the Masonic Province of Down.

The senior Warden of the Lodge proposed and the Junior Warden seconded that the best thanks of the Brethren be given to the Grand Master and Grand Officers for attending to Consecrate the Lodge.

The Deputy Grand Master replying on behalf of the Province & the Grand Lodge Officers assured them it was always a duty and pleasure to attend such a ceremony carrying through the advancement of Freemasonry.

The brethren of the Lodge afterwards entertained the Provincial Grand Lodge officers and visiting brethren.
