1.  Extracts from the Statutes, Laws     and Regulations of the Great     Priory of Ireland relating to the     wearing and design of Jewels of     the Order of the Temple.

 

Law 12.3

No decoration or Jewel other than those authorised by the Great Priory of Ireland shall be worn at any Conclave of the Great Priory of Ireland.

 

Law 94

Jewels

The Jewel of the Order is a Silver Seven- pointed Star, charged on the centre with a Passion Cross enclosed by a circle bearing the motto "In Hoc Signo Vinces" and is worn on the left breast of the Surcoat.

The Star of a Preceptor is charged with a patriachal instead of the passion cross.

Great Officers, past and present are entitled to wear this jewel in gold.

Knights' and Preceptors crosses are red, enamelled on gold.

A Past Grand Officer may wear suspended from the neck by the ribbon of the Order a representation of the Badge of the highest office held by him.

The Grand Master and the Great Seneschal wear special Crosses of Salem.

The Jewel worn by the Great Preceptory of Instruction is ared patriarchal cross (charged with a white Maltese cross on the lower limb, a cross over a crown on upper limb) upon a heraldic blue oval band, bearing the inscription "Great Preceptory of Instruction Ireland," suspended from a ribbon, red in centre bordered with white.

The other Badges, Jewels or decorations shall be limited to those which are assigned to each respective office, rank or degree.
