OBVERSE OF JEWEL An silver Founders Jewel suspended from a sky blue ribbon and two silver green enamel bars,
with the word "Founder" on the top bar,On the centre of the ribbon is the number of the Lodge "112", which is on a small silver plaque with the numbers in green enamel. and on the bottom the date the Lodge was constituted "23rd June 1908".
The Jewel is silver , and comprises of a Compass and Square with a silver green enamel circular plaque mounted on the Compass, bearing the name of the Lodge "Emerald Masonic Lodge", and a suspended "G" hanging from the same.
REVERSE OF JEWEL The reverse of the Jewel bears the inscription : "Presented to Bro. F.W. Vanston"
The Maker's Mark on the reverse of Jewel is "JEL".

2. SHORT HISTORY OF WARRANT NO. 112
Warrant No. 112 issued to brethren in LISBURN, Co. Antrim, on the 3rd October 1739. Warrant No. 112 was cancelled on the 6th November 1845. Warrant No. 112 reissued to brethren in LISBURN, Co. Antrim, 23rd January 1849 namely,Adam Blackburn; Richard Crone and Henry Bell on the 23rd January 1849 Warrant No. 112 was sent in to Grand Lodge on 6th August 1857. Warrant No. 112 reissued to Colombo, Ceylon, as “The Serendib Lodge” on the 19th January, 1864, to Stephen Walter Rains (107); Henry Rogers Jevers (107) and John William Arrowsmith (107) on the 19th January 1864. Warrant No. 112 was sent in by Serendib Lodge on 19th May 1891 and it was Ordered on 1st June 1891 that Warrant No. 112 was to be retained and marked “Cancelled”.

3. HISTORY OF EMERALD LODGE NO. 112 1908 - 1980
The Minutes of the Grand Lodge Board of General Purposes dated 30th March 1908 regarding Warrant No. 112 show - "30 March 1908 – Read a Memorial from Bros. Walsh, Burne, Hopkins and 12 others praying for a Warrant to establish a Lodge in the City of Dublin to be called “The Emerald”. Recommended by Lodges 206, 126 and 302. Regular fee enclosed." The Board did recommend the issue of a Warrant to the applicants to be numbered 112. and this was "Confirmed" at Grand Lodge on the 4th June, 1908 as is reflected in the minutes. Warrant No. 112 reissued to `Emerald Lodge' in FREEMASONS HALL, MOLESWORTH STREET, DUBLIN, on the 11th June 1908 to Richard Walsh, Victualler (126); Edward H. Bevene, Solicitor, (206) and David Hopkins, Accountant, (126) registered along with twelve others from various lodges 11th June, 1908. No indication as to Master or Wardens The Minutes of the Grand Lodge Board of General Purposes dated 4th January 1909 re; Lodge 112 "4 January, 1909 – Read letter from Lodge 112, Dublin submitting special design for Founders jewel - Approved" [this is the Jewel above] Seven members of Emerald Lodge No. 112 served in the 1914 -18 War and Bro. Wm. Walsh made the supreme sacrifice. A total of 91 brethren registered up to 8th May, 1923. In most cases the dates when the issue of certificates is shown, together with the occupation of the brother. Series five Vol. 17 shown as Vol. 1 of the extant Grand Lodge Registers shows:- Warrant No. 112 to Dublin as “Emerald Lodge”Register commences with the registration of Ralph S. White, Engineer registered 28th July, 1924 A total of 50 brethren registered up to 13th February, 1951. In most cases the dates when the issue of certificates is shown, together with the occupation of the brother. Series six Vol. 21 of the extant Grand Lodge Register commences with the registration of Alfred Branagan, Clerk, registered 9th December, 1952. A total of 36 brethren registered up to 9th May, 1978. In most cases the dates when the issue of certificates is shown, together with the occupation of the brother. The Minutes of the G.L. Board of G.P. dated 15th November 1979 re: Lodge 112 show "15 November, 1979 – The Board noted and report to Grand Lodge the decision of the members of [Emerald]Lodge No. 112, Dublin to hand in its Warrant and amalgamate with [Curragh]Lodge No. 397, Dublin." The Grand Lodge Minutes of 6th December, 1979 noted and "Confirmed" the return of Warrant No. 112 and that the brethren amalgamated with Lodge No. 397. The Amalgamation of Emerald Lodge No. 112 with Lodge No. 397 was further mentioned in the Minutes of the G.L. Board of G.P. dated 15th may 1980 - "15 May, 1980 – The Board noted that following the decision of the members of Emerald Lodge No. 112 Dublin to surrender their Warrant and amalgamate with Curragh Lodge No. 397, Dublin, that Lodge No. 397 had agreed by Notice of Motion to change its title to "Curragh Emerald.""
